If the NDP knows that the ministry is skewing the numbers of what is protected out there, why is there not a decision made to put a halt to this butchering of non-renewable natural treasures, until we know what’s going on? Before it is too late? (https://sierraclub.bc.ca/b-c-government-targets-another-vancouver-island-old-growth-rainforest-for-clearcut-logging/) I am deeply, deeply disappointed that the NDP fails to protect the remaining old growth forest of BC. I had such hope when they won the election, but now I feel there is no point in actually voting, ever, since no matter who gets into office, they are all driven by short term greed and decision making, as if they don’t give a rat’s ass about what comes after they have left this planet. Every time i see a logging truck with the corpses of these magnificent beings, my tears start flowing. I feel like my friends are being slaughtered, for what? Money. Cold, stupid money, to satisfy the greed of this industry that has lost any semblance of a conscience they might have had. This should not be a economic decision, it should be in the category of human rights, heritage world treasures, etc. These are not ‘logs’ or ‘resources’, these are living beings, that have been here for far longer than the despicable “humans” who think they have the right to steal them from our children and grandchildren.
