Thank you!

I am deeply touched by all the well wishes yesterday on my 44th birthday! HÍSW̱ḴE (Thank you!)

The benefit of social media is that we can nurture connections with so many people. It’s the reason why I found the platforms so intriguing way back in 2007. Of course there are also many drawbacks to social media, many of which I have explored here in my blog.

One of the challenges is that there are so many places now for people to drop their well wishes and as I was desperately trying to respond individually to each of the messages that people were sharing, it was difficult to keep up. Frankly, there are many that I have yet to find and respond to directly.

I am not complaining for sure. I’m humbled that each and every one of you thought to take a moment to reach out and share your kindness, support and love. It means a great deal to me to know that through all of these four plus decades I have connected so deeply with so many people. I cherish every relationship!

As I have accepted the additional challenge of “Interim-Leader” on top of MLA, father, husband, brother, uncle, son, friend and colleague (I think I got them all), there will be many times ahead when I will need to remind myself of the kindness that everyone showed me on my birthday.

While I’m addressing the substantial obstacles ahead that may demand every ounce of energy, competence, proficiency, expertise, ingenuity and artistry (thank you thesaurus) at my disposal, I will take solace in the powerful network of incredible people that I am honoured to have around me.
