Brand and Brown discuss vulnerability, power and politics

Russell Brand is a fascinating person whose podcast I enjoy listening to. He is brilliant and every now and then he will let loose with an unscripted, politically charged poetic rant that I either rewind and listen to again or just hit pause and let soak through the skin.

His podcast is called Under the Skin and it has recently gone behind a pay wall. However, before it did, we left us a gem in his final free discussion with Brené Brown.

Brown’s TED talk, The Power of Vulnerability has over 43,000,000 views and is a catalyst of change for many people. She also has a popular Netflix special. An academic who studies humans and how we interact with each other, Brown is a gifted orator and an exceptional educator.

Powerful conversations

Usually, when I point you to a podcast, it’s because an idea that I’ve heard opens up an area in the mental landscape that I need to explore. This time around I’m not going to spend much more time writing and move much quicker to encouraging you to listen to this podcast episode. There is little I feel inclined to add other than I believe more minds marinating on the content of their conversation is better.

They discuss a range of topics from public speaking, fear and anxiety, the politics of power, vulnerability and spirituality, and parenting. I hope you enjoy their discussion and I would love to read your feedback. Please drop it in the comments section below.
