Increasingly, I’m having people stop me to acknowledge my blogging. I’m thankful to have the opportunity to spend a few minutes with you to discuss the content or the practice.
It is really fascinating to hear which post catches your attention and why it stands out amongst the rest. It is really a forest of blog posts now growing more dense each day. I believe I’ve been able to keep it fresh and not get too repetitive; however, there are certainly a few themes that have been emerging more than others.
The other day I spent a little time looking for some content that I’m sure I wrote a few months back and I could not find it. Or, at least it was not as I had remembered it. As the focus is on creating new content each day, tagging, categorizing, sorting and displaying specific types of content is not. To date, this project has been about each daily hit, and as posts move back into history, I realize how difficult they are to find. Perhaps this is a project for a volunteer with a little time and some understanding of WordPress and taxonomy.
Words of appreciation
It’s interesting how sometimes these writings veer onto some other course and to places that I never intended go. However this particular piece works out, thank you for reading it (and all the other posts you’ve read along the way). Thank you for stopping me to acknowledge that we share this space together. Thank you for leaving a comment of support or critique (I truly appreciate both). And, thank you for sharing this content with your friends. Finally, another special thank you to Celia for continuing to provide her editing expertise and the gentle reminders to offer something of value and not just rant (which is what some of these posts start out as 🙂
To that end, let’s finally get to it, shall we? One of the incredible people who read these posts brought to my attention a website that is designed to help you develop a writing practice as well – http://750words.com – of course you could just use a word processor or notebook.
Take time to make it a practice
I made the decision to create a public journal but maybe you would rather not hit publish and have to concern yourself with categories and tags. I hope that one of the outcomes of my endeavour to produce something each day that inspires you to give it a try as well. It’s incredibly therapeutic. Even if you’re not keeping meticulous notes of the events of each day, like was once common practice, at least you have a record of one thought. Better than nothing.
Anyhow, thank you Amita for sharing that website with me and I hope that it is a good resource for everyone looking to exercise their minds and pens and provides you a safe space to take a thought for a walk each day.
