September 1, 2017 video update from Adam Olsen, MLA for Saanich North and the Islands.
[Transcript]
Well the Olsen family just got back from family vacation, it was really nice to get away with the family for about a week. We headed up into the Fraser Canyon for a week to visit Emily’s dad, it was a really good chance to reconnect with the family, but I am glad to be back.
Over the past number of weeks, we have had about 150 meetings, in fact more than 150 meetings with stakeholders and with constituents. A couple of the meetings I have had recently are with the CEO’s of BC Transit and BC Ferries, transportation in Saanich North and the Islands is always a big topic and so getting to know the CEO’s and to start to build those relationships is really important for me, and plus it’s a file that I will be following, in the upcoming session and the upcoming sessions of the Legislature as transportation is my responsibility within the Green Caucus.
Speaking of which, September the 8th, we get back into the Legislature, into the Big Room as Silas calls it, we have the Throne Speech on Friday September the 8th, the kids are going back to school, it is going to be a very, very jam packed time at the beginning of September, also there is the Chiefs meetings in Vancouver, and as well the UBCM, the Union of BC Municipalities at the end of September.
In addition to that, we are hosting Town Hall meetings, joint Town Hall meetings with Elizabeth May, all around the Riding, you might be familiar with Elizabeth’s Town Hall meetings, I am going to be joining her for this next session. You can find out more information about those Town Hall meetings on my website, on the events page, at adamolsen.ca. So, I hope to see you around the Riding in the next couple of weeks, and until next time, HIACE.
